Notice Title

AI/ML Researcher Support

Notice Description

Digital Catapult is looking to appoint a number of AI/ML researchers to undertake short research projects with startups/SMEs that are participating in our acceleration programmes. The Machine Intelligence Garage is a CAP-AI (ERDF) and Innovate UK funded accelerator programme for early stage AI startups. The programme supports startups with access to compute power, AI Ethics advice, and business/investment connections and workshops. As part of the Machine Intelligence Garage programme there is an opportunity to fund small scale "research collaborations" between startups and a recognised research institute (for example a University or an RTO like the Digital Catapult). The objective of these research collaborations is to: - Facilitate connections between academia and industry - Fund applied AI research that is of interest to specific startups (but could be widely applied) - Improve the products and services of AI startups in the UK We are looking for a number of AI/ML researchers to work with individual startups on these small scale research projects. It is anticipated that a maximum of 15 Suppliers shall be appointed within this Contract. However, Digital Catapult reserves the right to appoint fewer or more than this number if deemed to be in their best interests to do so. The initial Contract term shall be for a period of 6 months with an option for Digital Catapult to extend for up to one (1) further period of six (6) months, at its discretion. Digital Catapult does not guarantee any volume or value of work from this Contract. However, it is anticipated that the maximum total value (including any extensions) for the entire Contract (including all appointed Suppliers) may be in the region of GBP70,000 (excluding VAT).
