Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit is inviting tenders for the re-commissioning of the Housebound Anticoagulation Service. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category and is situated in the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. The procurement process is currently at the Tender stage, with the Invitation to Tender (ITT) deadline set for 10:30 am on 8th October 2018. The contract is slated to begin on 1st February 2019 and will last for 26 months, with a potential extension of up to 12 months. The total budget allocated for this service is £180,000 annually, targeting approximately 260 housebound patients registered with GP practices in Leicester City CCG.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSE) that have the necessary experience and legal credentials to deliver patient-centred healthcare services. Businesses with expertise in anticoagulation therapy, nursing, and clinical care would be particularly well-suited to participate. Providers must demonstrate their capacity to meet local healthcare needs and ensure high-quality patient care, making this an attractive opportunity for organisations looking to expand their service offerings in the public health sector.
