Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Shared Business Services has awarded a contract for the provision of the Homeless Peripatetic Nursing Service in West London, targeting Kensington, Chelsea, and North Westminster. This service, aimed at reducing health inequalities among homeless residents, is valued at £125,000 and will run from 1st April 2021 to 30th September 2021. The procurement method used was a direct single tender action due to it being below the threshold, and the award was officially made on 19th March 2021.

This contract creates significant opportunities for businesses involved in health services, particularly those specialising in nursing and support for vulnerable populations. Companies that provide peripatetic nursing services, mental health support, or community health initiatives would be well-placed to engage in future tendering processes. Additionally, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) should consider leveraging their expertise in health services to compete effectively in this market.
