Notice Description

- To provide an Educational Psychology Service for the City of London which enables the City of London LA to fulfil its statutory duties relating to children and young people who have or may have SEND. - To support the implementation of the City of London's SEND Strategy and to be actively involved in developing and contributing to the City of London's strategic aims for pupils with SEND. - To ensure the provision of a service for children, young people, parents/carers and school staff which works with partners to identify, assess and meet the needs of children and young people experiencing special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND); and to advise on, plan and promote relevant preventative measures. - To deliver key items linked to the SEND Strategy and SEND Strategy Action plan so that the Service complies with national directives and informs the strategic development of SEND policy and practice across the City to ensure high quality educational provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. - To provide an educational psychology service to support The Aldgate School to develop effective systems for identifying needs, implementing support arrangements and monitoring progress, to promote the well-being and educational success of children and young people. - To provide an educational psychology service to support the early years settings in the City of London to develop effective systems for identifying needs, implementing support arrangements and monitoring progress, to promote the well-being and educational success of children from the earliest years. - To be responsible for providing a consultative service to teachers, parents and other professionals concerning the needs of individual children. The focus of this work is on enabling those with frequent contact with the child to be more effective in their work. - To be responsible for individual casework in schools and settings, as required, with children and young people within the framework of the SEN Code of Practice (2015). This will include psychological assessment of children and young people in order to provide advice and support to teachers and parents. - To be responsible for providing psychological advice for statutory assessments, as appropriate, within the relevant legislation (Children and Families Act 2015) and which meets the required performance indicators for the Educational Psychology Service. - To be responsible for providing advice, support & guidance to parents about the needs of their children, facilities & resources available to them and their entitlements during the course of consultation and casework. - To be responsible for providing advice, support and guidance to children and young people to ensure that they are able to fully participate and in the arrangements for meeting their needs. - To plan and deliver CPD at schools and settings, the LA and community level (as commissioned).
