Notice Title

GB-London: "Safe Spaces" Pilot - The service is currently referred to as "Safe Spaces" (a name suggested by survivors).

Notice Description

The Catholic Church in England and Wales and the Church of England and the Church in Wales are working together to procure an independent safeguarding support service for victims and survivors of church related abuse of any form . "Safe Spaces" (a name suggested by survivors) will be an independent support service for victims and survivors of church-related abuse across England and Wales. It is anticipated it will run as a national helpline linked to local community networks of support offering: *Independent first response advocates trained in trauma informed support. *Online sessional counselling for victims and survivors of church related abuse. *The development of local networks and data base of other local community therapeutic support services for victims and survivors. *Small grant funding to pilot 10 new or existing community-based survivor led self-help models of therapeutic support for victims and survivors of church related abuse. "Safe Spaces" represents the opportunity to deliver an entirely new ecumenical approach to meeting the care and support needs of victims and survivors of church related abuse across two major churches with the potential for wider roll out with other denominations and faiths. Key principles have been identified as central to the service design and delivery, and the detail of this information will be provided as part of the ITT documentation. Additional information: "Safe Spaces" will be targeted towards adults aged 18+ who are victims or survivors of church related abuse of any form in England or Wales, recognising that children or other victims and survivors of abuse not related to the churches may also contact the service. The pilot project will commence from the point of contract for a two-year period. There is a possibility that, if the initial two-year pilot period is successful and meets expectations, then the contract may be extended for a further 12 months with a maximum of three extensions. The value of the tender is PS 592,000 including VAT.
