Summary of the contracting process

The UK Ministry of Defence, through the Armoured Vehicle Programmes Team, is seeking tender submissions for the "CRARRV Survivability Upgrade Manufacture and Fitting" project. This requirement involves the manufacture and fitting of appliqué armour to seven Challenger Armoured Repair and Recovery Vehicles (CRARRV). The tender process is currently in the active stage, with a submission deadline set for 12 January 2016. The project is classified under the services category focused on military vehicles and associated parts, with the contract valued at approximately £2,001,281. The contract performance period is scheduled from 22 February 2016 to 30 December 2016, with the main delivery address located in the South West region of the United Kingdom.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the defence and military contracting sector, particularly those involved in manufacturing and fitting vehicle armour and similar components. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in military equipment or services would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Companies experienced in intricate assembly processes or that have successfully engaged in public sector contracts would particularly benefit from pursuing this opportunity, given the scale and specificity of the requirements outlined by the contracting authority.
