Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being led by the NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit for the project titled "Greater Preston and Chorley & South Ribble CCGs Integrated MSK Services". This initiative falls under the Health Services industry category, specifically focusing on the delivery of integrated musculoskeletal (IMSK) services in the North West region of the United Kingdom. The tender is currently in the planning stage, with submissions accepted until 19 April 2017. The total contract value is estimated at £37 million for a five-year term, with the possibility of a two-year extension.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community sector enterprises (VCSEs), that specialise in health services such as physiotherapy, MSK assessments, and pain management solutions. Companies with expertise in providing integrated healthcare pathways or effective patient self-care programmes would be well-positioned to compete, given the emphasis on high-quality, timely care for musculoskeletal conditions within the local population.

Notice Title

Greater Preston and Chorley & South Ribble CCGs Integrated MSK Services

Notice Description

Chorley and South Ribble and Greater Preston CCGs are commissioning a community integrated musculoskeletal (IMSK) and related conditions service for the local population. The IMSK service will ensure that people with MSK and related conditions have access to high quality, effective and timely advice, assessment, diagnosis and treatment appropriate to their condition. The model will be based on a single point of access structured around a smooth patient journey and seamless, evidence-based integrated care pathways. Shared decision making and patient self-care will be embedded throughout. Specifically, the service will include the following disciplines: Physiotherapy; MSK assessment and treatment; Rheumatology; Persistent MSK Pain Management and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome service. The IMSK service will maximise patient mobility, function and quality of life for patients with both short and long term conditions. This will include ensuring effective pain management. The contracts are for five years with an option to extend up to a further two years and the advertised price shows the anticipated value for five years inclusive of VAT. Draft specifications are available but these are likely to change. Please note this is a pseudo competitive dialogue in line with the MOI for the project. Please note the contract start date is indicative only and is to be agreed following the dialogue sessions
