Summary of the contracting process

Keele University has successfully awarded a contract for the "Provision of Technical Support for SEND Procurement", focusing on the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator (SEND) project in Staffordshire, United Kingdom. The procurement process, now complete, employed an open procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract has an estimated value of £50,000 and is set to run from 31 March 2017 to 30 September 2017, following a tender period that ended on 9 March 2017. This contract is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund as part of various initiatives aimed at economic growth.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the technical support services sector, particularly those with expertise in energy projects or complex procurement processes. As the project requires collaboration with a large contracting firm, suppliers that can provide specialised technical assistance, engineering services, or project management capabilities would be well-positioned to engage in future similar contracts, aligning with the university’s strategic objectives and funding frameworks.
