Notice Description

research proposals. Experience of chairing a Research Ethics Committee would be desirable as would experience of reviewing ethics proposals for research into occupational health and safety. Reporting to HSE's Chief Scientific Adviser, the contractor will be required to: * chair the monthly meetings of the HSE Research Ethics Panel at which research ethics proposals are discussed (online meetings). * advise on the HSE research ethics process which is kept under permanent review. * act as a research ethics adviser for higher risk proposals before their submission to an external Research Ethics Committee and other proposals which are considered internally. * provide training and mentoring for HSE's Research Ethics Advisers. * support actions to raise awareness of and support good practice in research ethics throughout HSE's science base, including delivery of seminars and discussions with scientific teams, and identification of other potential actions such as seminars by experts in research ethics in specific disciplines or applications.
