Bidders will be responsible for providing a service for the collection, seizure, transportation, reception and kennelling of detained stray dogs which discharges the legal duties placed on the Council with regard to stray dogs. This duty is detailed in Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) Guidance on Stray Dogs October 2007 Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
