Short Term Vehicle & Plant Hire Framework
Notice Description
The Council operates a fleet of approximately 700 items comprising of cars, small vans, mini buses, tippers, road sweepers, refuse collection vehicles, trailers and plant equipment. The Council is seeking a comprehensive framework of Suppliers who can provide a range of vehicles/plant on a short term hire basis as and when required. If the required vehicle/plant cannot be supplied via this framework the Council at their discretion may source via an alternative method or framework agreement. The annual expenditure for short term hire is estimated to be circa PS320,000 pounds based on previous expenditure across a number of Suppliers. This value should be only used to indicate possible levels of business for this contract. The Council cannot guarantee any particular volume of business to any Supplier. The contract will be awarded initially for a two year period; the Council reserves the right to extend for a further 2 year period. The extension is subject to quality of service and price remaining acceptable to the Council. The maximum contract period is 4 years. Prices are to be fixed for the initial two years and may be reviewed at the extension point. The vehicles/plant will be hired for use by various Council departments and driven by their employees. The Supplier shall supply vehicles/plant to the Council, as and when required. The requirements of each hire shall be specified at the time of ordering. The Council will use the rates submitted by Suppliers to select the lowest price for the type of vehicle/plant required when selecting a Supplier for an ad-hoc hire request. The Council may request ad-hoc hire of specialist vehicles/plant from any Supplier as and when necessary.
