Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "The Eling Experience - Mill Restoration" is being conducted by the New Forest District Council in the South East region of the United Kingdom. This open tender aims to carry out vital restoration and alteration works to the historic Tide Mill building. The tender commenced prior to its publication on 26th August 2016 and had a deadline for submission on 23rd September 2016. The estimated value of the works is between £220,000 and £240,000, and the contracted works are expected to commence on 30th October 2016, concluding by 31st March 2017. This project falls under the building completion work category and is part of an initiative to enhance visitor engagement with the mill, which is a Grade II* Listed structure of national significance.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for construction and restoration firms, particularly those specialising in heritage and listed building works, who can provide the necessary skills for both internal and external restoration, carpentry, and masonry. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate due to the scale of the project, and those with experience in projects requiring compliance with conservation conditions will find themselves particularly well-suited. The works will enhance the visitor experience at a functioning tide mill, thus offering potential suppliers a chance to showcase their expertise in creating unique public engagement spaces.
