Summary of the contracting process

The Home Office has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) and Early Market Engagement (EME) notification for the Fire and Rescue Services Data Platform (FaRDaP), targeting the IT services industry. This procurement process currently is in the planning stage, with the EME event scheduled for 31st January 2025. The engagement end date is 30th January 2025. The FaRDaP system will serve 44 Fire and Rescue Services across England, Wales, and Scotland and supports a significant user base, providing essential incident data and real-time reporting capabilities. The event will be held remotely via MS Teams, and suppliers are required to register their expression of interest by noon on 30th January 2025.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for providers in cloud hosting, infrastructure software support, helpdesk services, application software support, system support, and change management services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular may find this an attractive opportunity due to the Home Office's emphasis on increasing competition and gathering market feedback. Businesses specialising in IT services, including platform interconnectivity, data services, and internet application development, are well-suited to compete. Participation in this early market engagement will enable suppliers to gain insights into the procurement process and prepare for potential future bidding opportunities.
