Brief description: There has never been such an exciting time to work for the Housing Team within Sandwell Council. With the changes in legislation coming in and an ambitious Housing Strategy to deliver we have a wide range of large-scale regeneration and improvement projects that will improve the quality of homes we provide to our residents. As well as a number of major projects to improve and modernise our residential high-rise blocks around the borough we have some ground-breaking innovative projects as we turn our carbon zero and energy. Sandwell is looking to recruit a Capital Project Manager to play a central role in the design of the programme and the delivery of a number of high profile, high priority regeneration projects. The projects that you will lead are fundamental to Sandwell delivering cohesive and thriving neighbourhoods that people want to live in and that promote health and wellbeing. The post-holder will work in collaboration with council teams, partner organisations, and other stakeholders. A general understanding of council policies in relation to procurement, governance, decision making, risk and budget management would be beneficial but is not essential and we welcome applicants from the private, charitable and public sectors. You will be educated to degree level or have substantial construction related project management experience and able to work at the highest level - driving forward delivery whilst also effectively managing risk. Key to this role is leading complex projects so you must be experienced at managing projects and be able to evidence project management competencies. Qualifications: o Qualified to degree level in relevant subject or able to demonstrate extensive experience of managing projects with values between ?5m and ?50m. o Practitioner Level Prince 2 qualification or other equivalent project management qualification. o Politically restricted post This post does not require a DBS.
