The Council is holding a supplier event to inform the market of its approach to purchasing advocacy services for: * Children and young people subject to the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005; * Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities who require specially skilled advocates, where their needs cannot be met by the separate Children in Care Advocacy Service or SENDIASS contracts; and * Parents with Learning Disabilities who require an advocate to engage in family proceedings brought by the local authority.
