Market Engagement Event - NHS Health Checks
Notice Description
The NHS Health Check programme is a nationally mandated Public Health programme under the responsibility of Local Authority Public Health teams. The NHS Health Check programme aims to help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and certain types of dementia. Adults between the ages of 40 and 74, who have not already been diagnosed with one of these conditions, can be invited (once every five years) to have a check to assess their risk and be offered support and advice to help them reduce or manage that risk. In Barnsley, the programme is currently delivered through primary care. BMBC aims to explore a range of options around delivery models to deliver both targeted and opportunistic health checks including a systematic call and recall element. Commissioners wish to invite interested Providers to meet with them at a market awareness event. The purpose of this approach will be to: * Share feedback from previous market engagement and current thinking around preferred delivery model * Seek the high level market view and challenges from an operational and commercial perspective. * Consideration of KPI's * Raise awareness amongst the provider market of the challenges faced by Commissioners. * Give Providers the opportunity to start building the resources and the strategic relationships required to bid successfully for the services. * Engage with the Provider market at the pre-specification writing stage. * Help to determine the most appropriate course of action for the Commissioners. Timescales: BMBC intend to have a revised NHS Health Check service for a start date of 01/04/2018. Interested suppliers may contact James Farrimond by email Jamesfarrimond@barnsley.gov.uk The event will take place on 19th May between 1000 and 1230 at Barnsley Council Offices, Wesgate Plaza S70 1JR.
