Market Engagement For Shared Lives Service 2024

Notice Description

Staffordshire County Council are seeking a provider to deliver the Shared Lives Service from the 1st April 2024, following the natural expiration of our existing contract. Shared Lives is a service where Individuals with assessed eligible social care needs share the home of a specially recruited and trained Shared Lives Carer and their family. The Service supports them to reach their potential and live healthy, safe, independent and fulfilling lives in their own communities. Our Shared Lives Service is accessed by a range of eligible Individuals, aged sixteen (16) and above including older people, people with mental health needs including dementia, those with a physical or sensory impairment, learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, care leavers and Individuals with complex needs. The Council wish to increase the use of this Service for all Individual groups. The Service supports a range of Individuals with varying levels of need. The successful provider is required to be registered for the regulated category of Personal Care with the Care Quality Commission and to maintain that registration throughout the duration of the Agreement. The main components of the Service are as follows: o the management of the Service, o the promotion and development of the Service, o the recruitment and assessment of new Shared Lives Carers; o the provision of support and training to new and existing Shared Lives Carers; o the assessment for the provision of support to Individuals; o the matching of Individuals and Shared Lives Carers including undertaking Risk Assessments, managing the Placement of Individuals with Shared Lives Carers and the monitoring, supervision and review of Placements and the Service.
