Summary of the contracting process

The National Health Service Commissioning Board (NHS England) is managing a planned procurement titled "Hepatitis C as a part of liver health: improving awareness, detection and treatment or Hep C within wider, non-targeted populations (Love Your Liver)." This initiative falls under the health services industry category and aims to improve screening access across general populations at risk of Hepatitis C infection. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a contract period scheduled to commence on 4th October 2021 and concluding on 31st March 2022. Interested parties must register their interest by 12pm on 6th September 2021 to participate in this open tender process. The estimated contract value is £40,000, with a minimum value of £37,000, to be conducted under an open procedure below threshold.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those with experience in screening methodologies and follow-up healthcare procedures. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to engage with this opportunity, as the procurement aims to deploy static service locations across at least 20 urban areas. Companies able to provide comprehensive health solutions, including access to screening facilities and subsequent care linkages, will be particularly well-suited to compete in this tender.

Notice Title

Hepatitis C as a part of liver health: improving awareness, detection and treatment or Hep C within wider, non-targeted populations (Love Your Liver)

Notice Description

There are around 90,000 people within England with the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). Some populations are of higher risk of HCV, including people who were born in endemic countries, people who inject drugs, and those who are in custody. NHS England has a number of targeted programmes to find those at the highest risk of HCV transmission / infection; this programme will provide us with some background into rates of infection within the general population, providing access to those who may have been at risk many years ago but not consider themselves to be so now - and may be silently harbouring progressive liver disease. This notice asks for an organisation to provide screening access to general populations, alongside existing programmes to support health and well being, liver health etc. It is expected that this will include; - Static / shop front type service availability in at least 20 towns / cities of interest - Access to an existing screening methodology (e.g. liver health) - Facilities to be able to offer follow up procedures where appropriate (e.g. antibody and/or PCR screening, fibro scan) - Linkage to care for those found to need it. This is a National requirement - There will be a minimum of 20 delivery locations centred on urban conurbations which the organisation must identify and have access to. See the attached document for further details on how to register and interest. Please note you should register your interest by 12pm on 6th September via the Atamis system: The portal can be accessed here: https://health-family.force.com/login? 1) Click on the 'Sign-Up' button to create an account as needed. 2) Register for the relevant opportunity once logged in:. 3) You can submit questions through the messaging function in the system.
