Notice Description

Development Phase tasks comprise: 1 Detailed condition assessment of maps identified for both in-house and external digitisation as part of MSS project and development of conservation, digitisation and preservation workflow. 2 Working with Conservation Plan Consultant and SRO Collections Management Team to develop conservation management plan and cost-effective decanting and recanting plan for archives and local studies collections moving from current buildings to The Hold Delivery Phase tasks, if the project secures Round 2 funding, could comprise: 3 Completion and supervision of necessary conservation work on the maps including photographing items before any work is carried out, repairing, cleaning, detaching and flattening, packaging plans for safe transit and repackaging after scanning and recording work done on the CALM database. Carrying out any running repairs identified at the point of scanning. 4 Training and advising staff and volunteers on basic conservation and preservation techniques such as cleaning, and handling of archives during digitisation. 5 Condition assessments and necessary conservation for additional enrichment documents as identified by community groups. 6 Supporting delivery of decanting and recanting plan.
