The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has completed the procurement for the "Supply of Electricity to Half Hourly & Non-Half Hourly Meters 2025 - 2029," focusing on electricity supply under the CPV classification 09310000 (Electricity). Using a selective procurement method through a call-off from the Crown Commercial Service RM6251 Supply of Energy 2 Framework, the contract is valued at £25,000,000 and covers the East Midlands region. The contract period extends from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2029, with potential extension up to 31 March 2030. Key dates include the announcement of the award on 9 September 2024 and the publication of the award notice on 18 September 2024.

This tender creates substantial growth opportunities for businesses in the energy supply sector, particularly for large firms such as EDF Energy Customers Limited, which has been awarded the contract. The extended contract period, the significant volume of electricity required, and the possibility of increased consumption due to infrastructure expansion present a competitive landscape for those specialising in large-volume electricity supply and related services. The value and duration of the contract offer long-term growth and stability benefits, attracting firms capable of meeting the Trust's comprehensive energy needs and contributing to the overall efficiency of healthcare facilities.

Notice Title

Supply of Electricity to Half Hourly & Non-Half Hourly Meters 2025 - 2029

Notice Description

The purpose of this Contract is to facilitate supply of electricity to Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust (The Trust)'s half hourly & non-half hourly meters via the NHS England (NHSE) basket via Lot 1 (Supply of Energy - Electricity and Additional Services) of the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) RM6251 Supply of Energy 2 Framework (The Framework).
