Summary of the contracting process

The University of Lancaster is initiating the procurement process for the "Library Phase 3" project, aimed at constructing a 2,600m² extension to enhance teaching and study spaces. This initiative falls within the construction industry and is located at the Bailrigg Campus in Lancaster, UK. The procurement stage is currently in the planning phase, with a target for the official tender notice to be published on 10th April 2019. The project is set to commence in early October 2019 and is expected to conclude by 4th December 2020. It will follow a single stage design and build procurement method, with a total value of £7 million, and a minimum contract value of £6.75 million.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction and design, particularly those experienced in creating educational facilities. Companies that can offer innovative designs aligned with the project’s aim for an EPC Grade A rating would be particularly well-suited to compete. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to register on the e-tendering portal, In-Tend, to access the forthcoming tender documents. Engaging in this project could enhance a company’s portfolio and credibility within the sector as well as contribute to long-term business growth.
