Summary of the contracting process

The Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking tenders for the "Foster Care Training" programme, designed to enhance the skills of approximately 300 foster carers associated with Sandwell Children's Trust. This procurement is classified under training services and falls within the open procedure category. The tender was published on 5 August 2022, with a submission deadline set for 26 August 2022 at 15:00. The contract is expected to commence on 1 September 2022 and will run for two years, concluding on 31 August 2024, with an estimated budget of £45,000 for the first year.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in training services, particularly those with experience in social care and child development sectors. Companies that can demonstrate a strong track record in delivering training programmes for foster care or similar services would be highly competitive. With the aim of equipping foster carers with mandatory and developmental skills, there is potential for ongoing work and collaboration, especially if the budget allows for further engagements beyond the initial contract period.
