Notice Description

'The Housing Executive wishes to procure suitably qualified and competent persons to provide a comprehensive response and planned maintenance service (including installation, removal, repair and a call out service) for a range of vertical through floor' lifts, currently installed in approximately 500 of the Housing Executive's properties across Northern Ireland. Vertical through floor' lifts are installed in the Housing Executive's domestic dwellings to allow a disabled person access to the first floor of the dwelling. The Housing Executive have four types of lifts to be maintained/installed as part of the Service: a. Vertical Seat lift; b. Vertical Wheel chair lift; c. Platform Lift; d. Step Lift. The Service required will comprise of the following items of work to the Housing Executive's vertical through floor' lifts in domestic dwellings: Service and Maintenance of all lifts; Assessment and completion of repairs to lifts; Installation of new lifts (or stored previously used lifts); Removal, refurbishment and storage of lift units; Survey and design of structural alterations to 1st floor (for new openings or closures); Structural alterations following approval of designs; Obtaining Building Control certification for any structural alterations; Response to call outs 24 hrs/day, 7 days/week; Installation of new lift communication systems; Testing of lifts as directed by the Housing Executive. Tenderers should note that installations and removals of lifts will also require structural alterations to the first floor to create or close an opening in the first floor. The maintenance and servicing of the lift units will be carried out in accordance with the specification and other provisions of the TSSC. Occasionally instructions will be issued by the Housing Executive, requested through Job Requests, for items of work outside the main Service. The Service will occur in occupied buildings and in most cases in and around dwellings occupied by persons with disabilities and special needs. The provision of the Service is required during Normal Working Hours (9:00 to 20:00 on Mondays to Fridays inclusive and from 9:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays including all annual and public holidays) and includes the provision of an emergency response service outside Normal Working Hours so that total cover is given 24 hours per day, every day of the year for the duration of the contract awarded. This includes all weekends and holiday periods. Further details of the Housing Executive's requirements are set out in the documentation available from the contact point set out at I.1) above.'
