Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Thames Valley Integrated Care Board is preparing to commission Complex Termination of Pregnancy (CTOP) services across the South East, as announced in this market engagement notice dated 20th May 2026. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a focus on gathering information from potential providers through a Prior Information Notice. Interested parties are invited to express their interest and submit information by 26th June 2026. The contract, under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime, will span an initial five years with potential extensions. The service falls under the health services category and will cover regions in the South East of the United Kingdom.

This engagement provides substantial opportunities for businesses experienced in delivering complex healthcare services, particularly those capable of handling cases with medical complexity or significant co-morbidities. Large healthcare providers with the necessary infrastructure and experience in similar services would be well-suited to participate, although small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary community social enterprises (VCSEs) are not specifically targeted. Engaging in this process can help businesses establish a pivotal role within the regional healthcare infrastructure, leveraging existing capabilities to meet the specialised needs outlined by the NHS Commissioner.
