Summary of the contracting process

Nottingham City Council is seeking to establish an open Accreditation for organisations to deliver Care Support and Enablement (CSE) Services in Nottingham as part of an open procurement process, initiated on 1st March 2018. This contract, valued at £81,800,000, is intended to assist adults with various care needs, including physical and sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning disabilities, and autism. The contract will extend for five years, with the possibility of a four-year extension, aligning with the broader objective to secure qualified providers within the social work services sector. The deadline for tender submissions was 1st December 2017.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in care services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary/community sector enterprises (VCSEs) that have expertise in meeting complex care needs. Companies with a solid background in supporting adults with disabilities, mental health issues, or other specific care requirements would be well-positioned to compete. The extensive duration of the contract and the substantial budget could provide a stable foundation for growth in the care service sector within Nottingham.
