Notice Title

The Financial Costs of Current and Future Landfill Operations

Notice Description

The contractor will determine the overall costs of landfill operation and the costs associated with all the separate elements of running a landfill in England. The costs will cover the whole life cycle of landfills from site preparation to permit surrender. The costs will be a format that can readily feed into the Cost Benefit Assessments required to support consultations and policy decision-making. The contractor will determine the current landfill capacity in England. The contractor will predict the range of potential changes in the landfill capacity needed based on the changed waste types and quantities that would arise from the R&W Strategy proposals. The contractor will provide an understanding of any financial constraints on the market providing the required landfill capacity. The scope of the project will include both landfills for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
