SCC PD Kalima Traveller Site Maintenance Works

Notice Description

SITE: KALIMA TRAVELLERS SITE This is a 15 pitch site and has been in a poor state of repair for several years. It had previously been planned to increase the number of pitches on the site and carry out the essential refurbishment at the same time, but planning approval was not received and so the works remain outstanding. Issues / Problems to be addressed: The utility blocks and contents are now reaching a stage they are beyond repair Failing services: due to their age the water and drainage pipes are bursting below ground The electricity cabling is old and no longer suitable for the site where many of the caravans have been replaced by large mobile homes The electric card meters are now obsolete and it is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain the suitable payment cards Aims & Objectives: Fully refurbish the site. Due to budget restraints it has been decided to split the work into two phases; below ground works, and above ground works.
