Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit is currently in the planning stage of procuring Community Medical Ophthalmology Services for Birmingham CrossCity, Birmingham South Central, and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). The procurement will be divided into two lots, focusing on Minor Eye Conditions and Community Medical Ophthalmology services. An engagement event is scheduled for 9th August 2017 at Solihull CCG, where details regarding the procurement process and service specifications will be discussed. Interested parties must register to attend the event by 23rd February 2018, the deadline for engagement.

This procurement presents an excellent opportunity for organisations involved in health services, especially those specialising in ophthalmology. Businesses capable of delivering services related to minor eye conditions or community ophthalmology will be particularly suited to apply, providing them with the chance to participate in delivering essential healthcare services within the West Midlands. The procurement's structured approach towards separate lots allows providers to compete for specific sections of the service, encouraging a range of organisations to engage and collaborate in this sector.
