Notice Title

Psychologically Informed Consultation and Training Model in Camden Landlord Services

Notice Description

A direct award has been made to Camden and Islington Foundation Trust (CIFT) to deliver psychologically informed consultation and training model in Camden Landlord Services. The direct award is due to the influence of Covid 19 on the client base and the need to further support them. The direct award of a contract to CIFT will mean that the project, on which initial scoping and piloting work has already taken place, can be expanded into a dedicated service monitored by officers. This will result in the anticipated positive outcomes for Camden residents identified in the pilot being realised. PICT is an innovative service delivery approach founded on a delivery model of 'consulting to the system' through co-location. CIFT have been delivering the current pilot since January 2019 and has supported the evaluation of the model which has informed the design and plans for the extended service offer. Informed by the strong evidence from pilots that have taken place, and continue to take place, expanded service models have already been successfully introduced to include Adults with mental problems in various services within Islington's Children and Family Services and Primary Care and Acute Health Services (Camden and Islington). The Camden Landlord Service has found that at least 30% of the residents they work with suffer from a diagnosed mental illness, issues, how to work with residents who are experiencing them and The current pilot has been very successful in addressing these issues as the PICT model fits very well with the systems thinking approach taken by the service. The key benefits realised through the pilot include: Improved relationships with service users. Neighbourhood Housing Officers having greater knowledge and confidence to work with residents presenting with complex needs. Reduced staff burnout by increasing understanding and compassion towards residents, particularly those who may not engage with support offers and who might be challenging to work with. Increased staff resilience through discussing the impact of the work. Greater understanding of mental health pathways and services.
