Summary of the contracting process

The Association of North East Councils, operating as the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO), is initiating a public procurement process for a Framework Agreement focused on the supply, delivery, and installation of furniture across various public-sector settings. This tender, identified as NEPO411, falls within the industry category of furniture, with an estimated value of £85 million. The procurement method is an open procedure, and the tender period is set to close on 2 June 2021. Successful suppliers will be contracted from 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2025, with opportunities available across four defined lots: office furniture, educational furniture, residential furniture (social care), and reserved contracts for supported businesses. The tendering process is specifically designed to promote social and professional integration for disadvantaged workers as per Regulation 20 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the furniture manufacturing and supply sector, especially firms capable of delivering tailored solutions for public-sector clients. Companies specialising in office, educational, and residential furniture are particularly well-suited to compete, along with supported businesses that can fulfil the necessary criteria. The focus on a multi-lot framework encourages a diverse range of suppliers to participate, enhancing potential collaboration and local economic growth. Businesses should prepare to submit their tenders through the NEPO eTender system to ensure they are considered for this lucrative framework agreement.
