Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "Livestock Disposal & Transport Framework" is organised by the Defra Network eTendering Portal, primarily concerning refuse transport services. This initiative is in the planning stage, set to commence on 19 September 2020 and run until 18 September 2024. A market engagement webex event is scheduled for 24 June 2020, where potential suppliers can learn more about the framework and provide feedback. The procurement covers a wide geographical area, including the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories, and Europe.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in refuse transport and related services, particularly those that can demonstrate capabilities in livestock disposal in response to health outbreaks. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the procurement framework seems tailored to include them. Suppliers that can respond to emergency scenarios will find this an advantageous tender to pursue.
