Notice Title

Data Services Sports Content (All Oympic & Paralympic sports & disciplines)

Notice Description

UK Sport provides strategic investment to enable Great Britain's Olympic and Paralympic sports and athletes to achieve their full medal winning potential. UK Sport wishes to acquire and/or be supplied with non-exclusive sports performance data with the aim of providing UK Sport, the English Institute of Sport (EIS) and the National Governing Bodies of World Class Programme (WCPs) for Olympic and Paralympic sports with relevant data to use for analysis, manipulation, interpretation and communication to sports in order to make strategic investment decisions. Because UK Sport shall use such data to compare all aspects of the performances of GB athletes and teams with their competitors from as far back as 1993 the breadth and depth of the data required is wide in scope. To clarify UK Sport is not seeking only the supply of sports performance data just from Olympic and Paralympic Games. The services will include the delivery of historical and "live" sports performance data across all Olympic and Paralympic sports (including individual disciplines within such sports). This covers all relevant international competitions at youth, junior and senior levels from: continental championships, world cups, regional games, (including equivalent competitions), world cups and championships, Commonwealth games, Olympic and Paralympic Games. Competitions that lead to Olympic and Paralympic qualification are also to be included. The data services shall incorporate world rankings, personal (season) best performances, world record progression. The data shall also contain final results, phase results, match results, and granular data for example up to split times and individual scores for judged based sports. . It is anticipated that the data is delivered in two formats; a raw data feed through database replication, and through a ready to use online application. The data is for use by UK Sport, EIS and WCPs as well as consultancy services related to the data delivery. This will cover sports results and biographical data on athletes across the world. Any procurement exercise will be joint with the English Institute of Sport. Given the nature of the services UK Sport currently estimates a long term contract for approximately 48 months at an approximate value of PS500000.00. This is subject to review following expressions of interests and UK Sport developing its requirements. In order to express an interest in providing these services, potential providers should email Sam Timmermans, Head of Sports Intelligence at Sam.Timmermans@uksport.gov.uk by 5pm (GMT) Wednesday 10 February 2016. Suppliers should note that UK Sport is currently in the formative stages of developing its requirements. This notice is therefore not a guarantee of a forthcoming procurement exercise. Additional information: Suppliers should note is in the formative stages of developing the requirements and this is not a guarantee of a forthcoming procurement exercise.
