Provision of Police Workforce Census

Notice Description

This Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB) makes recommendations to the Home Secretary each year on police pay and conditions for officers at Constable, Sergeant, Inspector, Chief Inspector, Superintendent and Chief Superintendent ranks in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Part of the Home Office's responsibilities is to provide evidence to the PRRB as to the affordability of pay options, the unique role and status of Police Officers and Ministers' views on pay and conditions. Data on police workforce is required to inform and feed into the evidence that will be submitted by the Home Office to the PRRB. The contractor will need to collect, process, validate and present information about the pay, hours worked and length of service of police officers which will form part of the evidence submitted to the PRRB. The census was previously run on an annual basis and collected pay and related data in respect of around 160,000 police officers in the UK. The data collection seeks police officers' earnings, hours worked and length of service from the 44 forces in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This includes a combination of HR and payroll information
