Summary of the contracting process

Liverpool City Council, in collaboration with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, is initiating a tender process for the "Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service," valued at £587,000. This service aims to provide independent information, advice, and support to children, young people, and their parents or carers, particularly in relation to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The tender period is open until 24th February 2016, with the contract expected to commence on 1st June 2016 and run until 31st May 2019. The service will cater to families in Liverpool and Knowsley, ensuring access to essential health and social care information in accordance with statutory requirements under the Children and Families Act 2014.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses within the health and social work services sector to engage in a meaningful contract that supports children and families. Companies specialising in educational support, social services, or community outreach would be well-suited to compete, particularly those experienced with SEND initiatives. The chance to partner with local councils to enhance support systems for vulnerable groups could foster significant business growth and strengthen community ties.
