Summary of the contracting process

The West Midlands Combined Authority is planning a procurement process for a Multi-operator Fare Capping System. This IT services contract aims to introduce a fare capping solution for customers travelling across multi-mode, multi-operator journeys. A supplier engagement event is scheduled for 23rd October 2023 in Birmingham, where suppliers can provide feedback to be considered in the tender opportunity to be published around 17th November 2023. Interested suppliers must submit the Qualification Envelope by 16th October 2023.

This tender offers an opportunity for IT service providers with expertise in consulting, software development, and Internet services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be well-suited to compete in this procurement process, as the West Midlands Combined Authority has indicated that SMEs are suitable for this opportunity. The engagement event and subsequent tender process provide a chance for businesses to contribute ideas and potentially secure a contract in the provision of IT services for the fare capping system.
