Summary of the contracting process

The Crown Commercial Service is currently seeking suppliers for the "Digital Training and Support Framework," aimed at enhancing digital skills among the 10.5 million people in the UK lacking basic digital abilities. This opportunity falls within the industry category of computer-related services and is part of an ongoing open procurement process. Key details include a contract value of £35 million and a procurement method following the open procedure. While the tender period has ended, the contract began on 5th April 2016 and extends until 4th April 2020. Suppliers interested in participating must register on the e-Sourcing Suite and can express their interest through a specified process, guided by the Government Digital Service and the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in digital training and inclusion services, particularly those experienced in providing educational support, community service provision, or adult training. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will find this particularly advantageous as they can compete for the five specific lots outlined in the procurement. The focus on reducing digital exclusion makes this a timely opportunity, especially in light of the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has necessitated an increase in digital service usage and support.
