Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is currently seeking proposals for a part-time, distance learning online Master's programme in Air Power Studies. This tender, designated as ACT/04424, falls under the education and training services category and requires services to be delivered across various locations including the United Kingdom and overseas territories. The procurement process is in the Tender stage, with a submission deadline of 29th February 2016. The contract period is set to commence on 10th May 2016 and will run until 28th February 2021, covering three core intake periods, with options for further intake periods. The procurement method is selective, following a restricted procedure, focusing on identifying suppliers who best meet the specified criteria for academic delivery and capability.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for organisations involved in educational services, particularly those specialising in online course development and delivery. Businesses that provide teaching resources, curriculum design in defence and strategy subjects, as well as firms with experience in supporting higher education institutions would be well-suited to submit proposals. The requirement for a firm price contract indicates a stable revenue opportunity for selected suppliers, making it an attractive prospect for SMEs and experienced educational service providers looking to expand their offerings in the higher education sector.
