Summary of the contracting process

The Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking to engage organisations for the Cleaning Services and Grounds Maintenance Contract, covering 27 sites within their estate, including various fire stations and training facilities. The procurement process has reached the award stage, with the contract set to commence on 1st April 2017 and run for three years, with a potential extension of two additional years. The estimated value of the contract ranges from £750,000 to £780,000 excl. VAT over three years, with a maximum potential total of £1,300,000 over five years. The procurement method is a selective procedure.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in cleaning and grounds maintenance services, especially those experienced with public sector contracts. Companies that possess a strong track record in delivering comprehensive cleaning solutions, including specialist services such as deep cleans, alongside managed grounds maintenance like grass cutting and window cleaning, would be particularly well-suited to compete. Participation could lead to substantial growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) looking to expand their portfolio in public service contracts.
