Summary of the contracting process

The Hampshire Constabulary is planning to establish a Vehicle Salvage Contract for the scrapping, recycling, or sale of seized, collision-damaged, and crime-related vehicles over a 24-month period, commencing on 1st January 2019. This procurement falls under the industry category of vehicle repair and maintenance services, with a total contract value ranging from £10,000 to £20,000. Interested businesses should be aware that the opportunity is expected to be released by August 2018. The main procurement method is an open procedure set below threshold, and expressions of interest are encouraged from qualified and experienced organisations.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities, particularly for motor salvage operators who are registered and licensed, as it requires the use of licensed Authorised Treatment Facilities for vehicle disposal. Companies specialising in vehicle maintenance, recycling, and salvage administration services would be particularly well-suited to compete. Furthermore, consortia applications are allowed, enabling collaboration among businesses to meet the project requirements effectively. Interested parties are advised to register on the Hampshire County Council's In-Tend portal to ensure they are notified once the Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents are uploaded.
