Summary of the contracting process

Staffordshire County Council is initiating a tender process for the procurement of day opportunities and support services targeting older people (aged 65+) and individuals with physical disabilities who meet the Care Act eligibility criteria. This project, classified under health and social work services (CPV code 85000000), is currently in the planning stage. The engagement activities include a consultation meeting on 20th August 2024, from 10 am to noon and a subsequent survey to gather feedback. Businesses are encouraged to register their interest via the Proactis e-tendering system and attend online workshops that cover various aspects such as quality of care, contract model, finances, transport, and the tender process. The primary delivery location for these services is within the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom.

This tender represents a significant business growth opportunity for providers specialising in health and social work services. The focus on day opportunities for both older people and those with physical disabilities suggests a need for businesses capable of delivering high-quality care and support services. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to compete, as the tender process has provisions supportive of these organisations. Participating firms will have the chance to influence the service specifications, delivery mechanisms, and quality assurance processes, thereby helping to shape the future of these essential community services.
