Summary of the contracting process

The East of England NHS Collaborative Hub is conducting a tender for a Framework for the Provision of Dermatology Services, aimed at establishing a UK-wide framework agreement for NHS trusts and other public healthcare entities. This open procurement process, classified under CPV code 85121282, is currently in the tender stage, with the submission deadline set for 4 December 2020. The anticipated value of the contract ranges from £30 million to £48 million, with the contract duration running from 1 February 2021 to 31 January 2026. The services will be provided at either NHS premises or those of the winning providers and encompass a wide geographical area including the United Kingdom and British Overseas Territories.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for growth for businesses involved in healthcare services, particularly those specialising in dermatology. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-suited to participate in this competitive process, especially those that can demonstrate capacity and compliance to meet NHS standards. By winning a place on the framework, successful bidders could access additional opportunities through further competitions, such as the specific requirement for Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, thus broadening their service delivery scope across the UK healthcare landscape.
