*** This tender requirement was abandoned prior to a Contract award decision. *** DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. All tender information MUST be submitted through the CCS eSourcing Portal. Brief Description of Requirement; The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Office for Product Safety and Standards is the relevant department, responsible for Product Safety within the UK. Suppliers are strongly encouraged to read the text at the following link to gain a full understanding of the Product Safety role within the Office for Product Safety and Standards: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/strengthening-national-capacity-for-product-safety-strategy-2018-2020 BEIS will carry out assessments and testing to determine the current levels of compliance in the freezer and fridge freezer sectors in the UK in line with Product Safety requirements. Tenders are invited for testing according to the requirements detailed below. Requirement; To test 10 critical clauses from EN 60335-1 and the relevant part 2 covering electrical and fire hazards for a selection of freezers and fridge freezers to verify compliance with the following Regulations (and any amendments to these): * General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) - 2001/95/EC * UK Statutory Instrument 2005 No. 1803 - Consumer Protection The General Product Safety Regulations 2005 The test methods applied should follow harmonised standards EN 60335-1:2012 and EN 60335-2-24 (freezers and fridge freezers) published in the Official Journal of the European Union, or other reliable, accurate and reproducible calculation and measurement methods, which take into account the generally recognised state of the art. Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement. All attachments can be found with the RFx attachments tab within the Emptoris System. This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ document. How to Apply As part of the strategic alliance between UK Shared Business Services Ltd (UK SBS) and Crown Commercial Service (CCS), UK SBS will be using the CCS eSourcing Suite for this procurement. To register on the CCS eSourcing portal please follow the details contained within the Additional Information section of this notice. If you are already registered on the CCS eSourcing portal and wish to register your interest in this opportunity please email; expressionofinterest@crowncommercial.gov.uk Your email must clearly state: * the name and reference for the procurement you wish to register for; * the name of the registered Bidder; * the name and contact details for the registered individual sending the email.
