Summary of the contracting process

West Lancashire Borough Council is in the planning stage of a tender titled "Stray Dogs: Collection, Transport and Kennelling". This contract, which is set to commence on 1st April 2019 and run for three years with an option to extend, aims to ensure the Council meets its legal obligations regarding stray dogs. Interested organisations are invited to express their interest by 12 noon on 14th March 2018. The services will be required across the North West region of the United Kingdom, specifically within West Lancashire, involving timely collection and appropriate care of stray dogs.

This tender presents a significant growth opportunity for businesses specialising in animal welfare, transport, and kennelling services, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Companies capable of providing rapid response services, effective communication, and appropriate kennelling solutions would be well-positioned to compete successfully. Organisations looking to expand into public sector contracts in the animal care sector should consider participating in this process.
