Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Halton Borough Council, which has awarded a contract for the "Road Surface Treatments Term Contract" in the surface work for highways industry. The contract, valued at £6,500,000, commenced on 23rd May 2017 and will run until 31st March 2022. This tender was executed through an open procurement method, with the procurement stage currently at the Award phase, as the contract was officially awarded on 16th June 2017.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in road maintenance and surface treatments, particularly those with experience in highway asset management. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to compete, given the nature of the contract that involves collaborating with the council to enhance and extend the life of highway assets.
