Notice Description

The authority are seeking a lead provider to provide Out of Hospital Cardiology Services to patients in the City of Kingston Upon Hull. The authority is planning to undertake an open procurement process to award a contract for 2 year contract, with the option to extend up to two years. Aims and objectives of service To provide a 'one stop' (same day) out of hospital cardiology service as part of a positive seamless pathway, providing diagnostic testing and where applicable; consultant support, treatment, advice and guidance, in a single visit. This will be delivered at one or more bases, providing diagnostic services, cardiology follow up and psychological support as part of a positive seamless pathway. Aims * Quality out of hospital clinics to assess, diagnose and manage service users in need of non-invasive Cardiological assessment and treatment * Appropriate out of hospital based alternatives to in hospital care * Provision of a local service with reduced wait times * Fast equitable access for service users in an environment convenient for them * Quick opinions and treatment plans for referring clinicians; aiming to diagnose and refer back to the GP with detailed management plans following up only as appropriate, within 24 hours * Improve health outcomes through earlier diagnosis and treatment of common cardiology conditions * Specialist assessment, intervention and management planning Objectives to: * Reduce the total patient journey time to ensure that referral to treatment is undertaken within 18 weeks * Reduce the number of referrals, so far as clinically appropriate, to in hospital care, maximising capacity for those that require secondary care treatment Additional information: The Authority would like to gain an understanding of the provider market for this service.
