SCH - Leadership Development Programme

Notice Description

Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that was established in April 2004 to takeover the management of housing services on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). SCH's responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the Councils' housing stock. This portfolio includes houses, maisonettes, high-rise and low-rise flats, sheltered accommodation and community centres. Over the last few years SCH has restructured to enable services to be delivered in a different way. The senior management team has also restructured to facilitate and support the organisation to achieve its strategic and operational priorities. SCH's objectives and future challenges will require all of our people to work in different ways and build stronger partnerships. It is therefore imperative that our leaders are equipped to support and develop their teams and empower them to challenge what we do and how we do it to provide value for money services. SCH have developed and adopted a Behavioural Framework (see Appendix 1) which has been incorporated into the employee appraisal process from 2019. These statements illustrate the behaviours we expect from all employees, those to which we aspire, plus an additional set of expectations for our Managers. Our leaders bring different skills, knowledge and experience to the organisation and we now need to embed best practice and reinforce the behaviours we expect from our people to ensure a consistent approach. SCH is looking to appoint a suitable Consultant to develop and deliver a Leadership programme that will effectively develop our leaders to understand and display the expected behaviours and ways of working. The Leadership Development Programme will be designed to develop and embed the content of SCH's Behavioural Framework. It will be delivered to all managers, with the exception of the Executive Management Team (approximately 50 people). It is anticipated that the appointment of the successful Consultant will be confirmed by the end of October 2019. Working in conjunction with SCH's EMT and Organisational Development Lead, the Consultant is required to develop and finalise the Leadership Development Programme prior to its anticipated launch/delivery in January 2020. The programme is to be delivered to all SCH Managers within 18 to 24 months of its launch. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Demonstrable experience within the last three years of delivering a leadership development programme for an organisation of a similar corporate structure; Ability to meet the timescales as set out under Delivery timescales and Constraints above. KEY TIMESCALES - The tender query deadline will be 19 September 2019 - The tender submission deadline will 12:00 midday on 4 October 2019 - Contract award is expected to be in th...
