Summary of the contracting process

Bury Council is seeking qualified contractors for the "LED Lantern Installation and Day Works 2016-2017" project, which falls under the lighting equipment and electric lamps industry. This procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with a submission deadline set for 18th March 2016. The work will take place across various locations within Bury, and the contract is expected to commence on 2nd May 2016 and run until 2nd May 2017. Bury Council requires contractors to provide quotations for both the installation of LED lanterns and additional day works involving electrical testing and general maintenance.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in electrical installation and maintenance services, particularly those experienced in street lighting projects. Competitors should be well-equipped with the necessary qualifications, such as City & Guilds 2394/2395, G39, and IPAF certifications, and must not subcontract any work. Given the requirement for a fully qualified team, including a qualified electrician and a lamp attendant, businesses with capable crews in the electrical services sector are likely to find this opportunity well-suited to their expertise.
