Summary of the contracting process

Housing 21, a leading social enterprise providing retirement housing in England, is currently initiating a tender process for the removal, supply, and installation of windows and doors within the North Region, which encompasses 13 counties. This procurement, classified under the CPV code for installation of doors and windows, is taking place through a restricted procedure with a total estimated value of £5 million and a minimum value of £1 million. The tender period is set to close on 6 January 2020, and the contract is expected to commence on 20 April 2020, lasting for five years with a possibility of extension for an additional five years.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in construction and home improvement to engage in long-term contracts with Housing 21. Businesses that can demonstrate compliance with service requirements, quality standards, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to fragile residents, including those with dementia, would be particularly well-suited to compete. The emphasis on collaboration and continuity of supply underlines the potential for sustainable partnerships in the procurement process.
