Summary of the contracting process

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is currently conducting a tender for the provision of the Minor Eye Conditions Service on behalf of West Cheshire CCG. This initiative is aimed at enhancing high-quality eye care within the North West region of the United Kingdom, specifically focusing on the efficient assessment and management of minor eye conditions in a primary care setting. The tender, identified as G/472/PL/19/DB, was published on 10 July 2019 and is part of a further competition under the DPS Framework for Off-site Surgical and Medical Capacity Solutions. The contract is set to last for two years with an option to extend, and the tender period concludes on 31 July 2019.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth, particularly for businesses involved in outpatient care services, especially those listed under the relevant DPS framework. Companies that can provide qualified clinical staff and services for minor eye conditions will be well-positioned to bid. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, given their potential for agility and tailored service provision, which aligns with the goals of the Countess of Chester Hospital in improving healthcare access and reducing hospital appointment demands.
