Background The Agri-food chain directorate social research team in Defra purchases retail market intelligence reports and data on the global grocery retail sector on an annual basis. These reports are one of the many tools used by Defra's wider analytical teams and policy advisors to help in assessing issues such as sector market size, market segmentation, company market shares, brand market shares, forecast market growth, and consumer attitudes towards the food and drink industry on issues such as pricing, availability, labelling, packaging, and sustainability. Defra's goal to increase the value of UK food and drink exports, has also increased the requirement for market data on fast growing markets for UK exports, such as China and the US. Detailed requirements The successful Contractor will provide immediate online access to current and archived market intelligence reports and data.
